SB1338 Summary

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 28-2414 to require the Department of Motor Vehicles to design seven different veteran special plate designs instead of one standard design.

• The seven plate designs include: one with an American flag, and one each featuring the seals of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Native American Code Talkers.

• Allows veterans and their immediate family members to select which of the seven veteran special plate designs they receive from the department.

• Maintains the $25 fee for veteran special plates, with $8 designated as a special plate administration fee deposited to the state highway fund and $17 as a veteran plate annual donation deposited to the veterans' donations fund.

• Effective date: September 30, 2019.
