SB 1348 Summary

• Adds "adult snappers" (fuseless firecrackers) as permissible consumer fireworks in counties with populations exceeding 500,000 persons.

• Expands allowable sale dates for permissible consumer fireworks in large counties to include April 25 through May 6, and adds five days before through three days after Diwali.

• Expands allowable use dates for permissible consumer fireworks in large counties to include May 4 through May 6, and the second and third days of Diwali.

• Grants fire marshals employed or contracted by cities, towns, fire districts, or counties authority to seize and confiscate illegal fireworks, with costs imposed on the owner.

• Prohibits persons with more than two fireworks confiscations within a five-year period from selling permissible consumer fireworks in Arizona for three years following the most recent violation.
