SB1351 Summary

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 41-1829 to extend the termination date of the Arizona Peace Officers Memorial Board from July 1, 2019 to July 1, 2027.

• Board continues to consist of the attorney general (as chairman), directors of public safety and corrections, executive director of criminal justice commission, eleven appointed members, and legislative committee chairmen as advisory members.

• Appointed members include representatives from law enforcement organizations, business community, county sheriffs, local police chiefs, and family members of fallen peace officers.

• Members receive no compensation but appointed members are entitled to reimbursement for reasonable travel and business expenses from the memorial fund.

• Applies retroactively to June 30, 2019.
