• Adds diabetes outpatient self-management training services as a covered health and medical service under the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), limited to up to 10 program hours annually when prescribed by a primary care practitioner.

• Covers diabetes training services for members who are initially diagnosed with diabetes or for those experiencing a change in diagnosis, medical condition, treatment regimen, or not meeting appropriate clinical outcomes.

• Prohibits use of hospital assessment fund monies to pay for the diabetes outpatient self-management training services covered under this amendment.

• Makes technical corrections to section 36-2907 including renumbering subsections and clarifying language regarding transportation services and medical care coordination.
