Requires school districts and charter schools to provide suicide awareness and prevention training to guidance counselors, teachers, principals, and other school personnel working with grades 6-12 students, with training refreshed every three years beginning in the 2020-2021 school year.

Training must cover suicide prevention, identifying warning signs of suicidal behavior in adolescents and teens, and appropriate intervention and referral techniques using evidence-based materials.

Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System Administration must post approved suicide prevention training materials on its website by July 1, 2020, and update the list annually.

Requires all teacher training programs in Arizona to develop or adopt evidence-based suicide awareness and prevention instruction for all teacher candidates.

School personnel and entities are protected from civil liability for good faith actions taken under this section except in cases of gross negligence, willful misconduct, or intentional wrongdoing.
