Honors the memory of Stan Furman, former Arizona State Senator who passed away on April 1, 2019, at age 87 in Phoenix.

Recognizes Furman's service in the Arizona State Senate from 1991 to 1995, where he worked on criminal justice, lobbyist reform, and education legislation.

Acknowledges his role in establishing the 1992 referendum making Martin Luther King, Jr. Day a paid state holiday and initiating the Capitol Legislators as Volunteers to Education (CLAVE) program.

Notes his post-Senate community involvement including service as Arizona Civil Libertarian of the Year (1995), Mediator of the Year (1998), and president of the Arizona ACLU (2000-2006).

Extends the Legislature's deepest sympathies to Furman's surviving wife Gloria and his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter.
