AZ HB2003

Prohibits Arizona state and local governments from restricting firearm possession unless the person is a prohibited possessor or a court of competent jurisdiction issues an order.

Requires that before a court issues a firearm prohibition order, the person must receive notice of the order and allegations presented to the court.

Requires the person must have an opportunity to respond before the court issues the firearm prohibition order.

Exempts from these requirements court orders prohibiting firearm possession in specific locations where firearms may be lawfully prohibited.

Exempts peace officers from these requirements when temporarily prohibiting firearm possession during lawful stops, detentions, or arrests.
