HB 2019 Summary

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 15-393 to expand career technical education district (CTED) partnerships beyond school districts and community colleges to include nonprofit organizations devoted to vocational training and public or private postsecondary institutions.

• Permits CTEDs to enter into intergovernmental agreements or written contracts with these additional entities for providing administrative, operational, and educational services and facilities.

• Updates requirements for agreements to include specifications regarding financial provisions, accountability, responsibilities, instruction quality, transportation services, cost contributions, and minimum services like professional development and program evaluation.

• Modifies language throughout the statute to be gender-neutral and grammatically consistent (changing "shall" to "is/are" in appropriate contexts).

• Clarifies that member school districts or charter schools must submit satellite campus program requests through the CTED rather than directly to the state department of education.
