AZ HB2021

Authorizes attendance officers to impose civil penalties of up to $10 per day on parents or custodians of habitually truant children (truant for at least 5 school days in a school year).

Requires penalties collected from truancy civil penalties to be deposited into the student activities fund of the school district the truant child attends.

Expands attendance officer powers to include imposing civil penalties on parents of habitually truant children in addition to existing enforcement authorities.

Updates student activities fund provisions to account for monies received from civil penalties collected pursuant to truancy violations.
