Prohibits charter school governing body members from voting on employment or compensation matters involving themselves, their spouse, or dependents, and prohibits employees of charter schools (including contractors) or their immediate family members from serving on the charter school's governing body.

Amends school district governing board voting rules to replace "spouse" with "immediate family member" in employment voting restrictions and defines "immediate family" as married individuals and their children.

Expands conflict of interest employment prohibitions to prevent school district and charter school governing boards from employing members of the board or their immediate family members, with exceptions for limited purchases under $300 per transaction.

Updates language throughout related statutes from "which" to "that," "shall be" to "is," and reformats dollar amounts for consistency.

Grandfathers existing board members, allowing those serving on the bill's effective date to continue serving until their terms expire despite new restrictions.
