HB 2480 Summary

• Adds "case management service provider" definition to track travel times and locations for restricted drivers and report violations to the department in electronic format.

• Establishes new special ignition interlock restricted driver license allowing 90-day suspension holders to drive vehicles equipped with interlock devices if they meet criteria in section 28-1385, subsection G.

• Requires ignition interlock devices to report global positioning system location data each time vehicle ignition is started and disengaged for drivers with restricted licenses under section 28-1402.

• Expands grounds for extending interlock license restriction periods by six months to include operating vehicle in violation of driving restrictions placed on the license two or more times during restriction period.

• Allows both ignition interlock manufacturers and case management service providers to submit required electronic reports to the department instead of manufacturers alone.
