• Appropriates $10,000,000 from the state general fund in fiscal year 2020-2021 to the Arizona Department of Health Services for grants to community health centers, critical access hospitals, and area health education centers.

• Grants shall be used to recruit, hire and retain community health workers, certified nursing assistants, and other health-related professionals.

• Prioritizes grants to regions with high medical workforce shortages and grants focused on pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.

• Requires the Department of Health Services to submit reports to the governor and legislature on or before October 1 of 2020, 2021, and 2022 detailing grants provided and expenditures by each grantee.

• Exempts the appropriation from lapsing provisions under Arizona Revised Statutes section 35-190.
