HB 2601 - Summary

• Repeals section 41-3020.20, Arizona Revised Statutes, which previously governed the residential utility consumer office.

• Establishes a new section 41-3028.20 to continue the residential utility consumer office with a termination date of July 1, 2028.

• Repeals Title 40, chapter 2, article 11 and the new section on January 1, 2029, effectively ending the office and related statutory provisions.

• Reaffirms the legislature's commitment to protecting consumer interests regarding residential utility costs, charges, and procedures pursuant to section 41-2955, subsection B.

• Applies retroactively from July 1, 2020.
