Extends the deadline for corrections officers hired in designated positions to make irrevocable elections between the defined benefit corrections officer retirement plan and the defined contribution plan from July 1, 2018 to January 1, 2021.

Allows employees hired on or after January 1, 2021 in designated positions to make irrevocable elections between participating in the corrections officer retirement plan or the public safety personnel defined contribution retirement plan.

Requires the board to provide interactive educational training, counseling and plan-specific information to eligible employees within the first 60 days of employment before they must make their plan election.

Establishes automatic enrollment in the defined benefit corrections officer retirement plan for employees who do not make an election by the 90th day of employment.

Ensures employees determined eligible for accidental or total and permanent disability within their first 90 days are automatically enrolled in the defined benefit corrections officer retirement plan and receive disability benefits accordingly.
