Senate Bill 1013 Summary

• Department of Child Safety must report semiannual data on runaway and abducted children by September 30 and March 31, covering the prior six-month periods.

• For runaway children, reporting must include number of runaways, length of time away, average days on runaway status, prior episodes, age/race demographics, placement locations, and delinquency status if available.

• For abducted children, reporting must include number abducted, distribution and average of time missing, prior abductions, age/race demographics, and placement locations.

• Department must notify the president of the senate, speaker of the house, and governor when data becomes available and post downloadable, analysis-ready data on its website.

• Statute automatically repeals on December 31, 2024, with first reporting period covering January 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021.
