SB 1018 Summary

• Eliminates the Class A, B, and C bingo license classification system and replaces it with a single license type with a $25 local governing body fee and $50 license fee, subject to a 2.0% tax on gross receipts.

• Increases the maximum number of bingo occasions permitted per calendar week from five to seven occasions.

• Removes restrictions on Class A licensees regarding manager/supervisor membership requirements, profit-sharing limits, prize amounts, and employee participation in games.

• Requires all financial reports to be filed electronically beginning December 31, 2019, or when the licensing authority establishes an electronic filing program.

• Repeals the previous licensing classification structure (sections 5-413 and 5-415) and establishes new requirements for manager, supervisor, proceeds coordinator, and assistant positions at licensed organizations.
