Physical therapists licensed under Arizona law must elect either insurance payment or lien payment before beginning treatment of an injured person.

Payments received by the physical therapist under the elected method constitute full discharge of the injured person's obligation, preventing additional claims.

If the physical therapist elects insurance payment, the injured person remains responsible for applicable cost-sharing requirements including coinsurance, copayments, and deductibles.

"Cost sharing requirement" is defined as the injured person's coinsurance, copayment, and deductible requirements under their health insurance plan.
