SB 1055 Summary

• Repeals section 41-3020.06 of Arizona Revised Statutes, effective retroactively from July 1, 2020.

• Creates new section 41-3028.06 establishing a termination date of July 1, 2028 for the Commission for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing.

• Title 36, chapter 17.1 (relating to the commission) and the new termination provision are repealed on January 1, 2029.

• Continues the Commission for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing to serve as a bureau of information for deaf and hard of hearing individuals and state agencies providing related services, and to regulate the practice of interpreting.

• Approved by Governor on March 24, 2020.
