Establishes a long-term care facility task force to study and recommend policy and budget options for improving the Department of Health Services' investigation and processing of long-term care facility complaints and self-reports.

Task force consists of 17 members including legislative committee leaders, state agency directors, the state long-term care ombudsman, facility owners and administrators, patient advocates, and representatives from aging advocacy organizations.

Task force shall conduct comprehensive review of federal and state laws affecting investigations, examine current and historical budget and staffing levels, and identify barriers to timely complaint processing.

Task force must submit an interim report by January 31, 2021 and a final report by August 31, 2021 with findings and recommendations for administrative actions, legislative actions, and budget needs.

Task force is automatically repealed on June 30, 2022.
