Amends workers' compensation law to allow surviving spouses of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty to continue receiving death benefits regardless of remarriage, whereas previously remarriage would result in a lump sum payment instead of ongoing benefits.

Modifies public safety pension law to provide surviving spouses and dependents of deceased members with payment for all unused sick leave in addition to other death benefits.

Removes the requirement that health insurance premium payments stop if a surviving spouse of a law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty remarries; allows family coverage to include new family members if the surviving spouse remarries.

Expands the definition of "law enforcement officer" for health insurance benefit purposes to include corrections officers and firefighters who work through private company contracts on behalf of the state or political subdivisions.
