SB 1509 Summary

• Increases annual salaries for county elected officials in counties with 500,000+ population effective January 1, 2021, including County Attorney ($135,678), Sheriff ($112,824), and Assessor/Recorder/Superintendent of Schools/Supervisor/Treasurer ($88,600 each).

• Increases annual salaries for county elected officials in counties with less than 500,000 population effective January 1, 2021, including County Attorney ($135,678), Sheriff ($112,824), and Assessor/Recorder/Superintendent of Schools/Supervisor/Treasurer ($75,800 each).

• Increases the annual salary of the clerk of the superior court in counties with 500,000+ population to $88,600 and in smaller counties to $75,800, effective January 1, 2021.

• Makes technical corrections to Arizona Revised Statutes sections 11-419 and 12-281, including clarifying language and correcting formatting of dollar amounts.

• Effective date is December 31, 2020.
