Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 13-2907.01 to increase penalties for false reports made to law enforcement based on a victim's identity.

Makes false reporting to law enforcement a class 1 misdemeanor under existing law.

Elevates the offense to a class 6 felony if the false report is made with malice toward a victim because of the victim's membership in a protected group listed in Section 41-1750, subsection A, paragraph 3.

Also applies felony classification if the defendant falsely reports based on their perception of the victim's identity in a protected group.

Protected groups include categories such as race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and disability.
