Allows employees to file written wage claims with the department for unpaid wages not exceeding $5,000 if filed within one year after the claim accrues.

Authorizes the department to obtain judgment, execution, garnishment, attachment, or other collection remedies on behalf of employees for unpaid wages established by final departmental determination.

Requires the department to deposit wage claim payments received into a special state fund for disbursement to wage claimants upon proper authorization.

Mandates quarterly reporting to the president of the senate and speaker of the house of representatives regarding wage claims filed, investigated, and denied in the previous quarter.
