AZ SCR1004

Enacts a state death benefit of up to $1,000,000 for eligible first responders and security personnel killed in the line of duty, calculated as the difference between $1,000,000 and any amount received under the federal public safety officers' benefits program.

Provides a $50,000 state supplemental disability benefit to eligible persons who become disabled in the line of duty and qualify for social security disability insurance.

Defines "eligible persons" as police officers, firefighters, sheriff deputies, state highway patrol officers, emergency medical technicians, state correctional officers, U.S. border patrol agents assigned to Arizona sectors, Arizona army national guard members, and private prison security officers.

Defines "killed in the line of duty" as death directly resulting from performance of duties, excluding suicide.

Directs the Secretary of State to submit this measure to voters at the next general election for approval.
