AZ HB2021

Amends section 15-701.01 to require school districts award "at least one-half of a Carnegie unit and up to and including one" Carnegie unit for each three semester hours of community college or university credit earned by high school pupils.

Modifies section 15-1821.01 to allow freshmen and sophomores to enroll in dual enrollment college courses, whereas previously only juniors and seniors were eligible.

Permits community colleges to waive class status requirements for up to 25 percent of students enrolled in dual enrollment courses if the college establishes written criteria demonstrating those students meet course prerequisites.

Allows homeschooled students to fully participate in dual enrollment programs and receive college credit under section 15-1821.01.

Requires annual reporting to the joint legislative budget committee on exceptions granted to class status requirements, effective July 9, 2021.
