• Allows water right holders to file a water conservation plan notice with the director to voluntarily reduce water use without forfeiting their water rights.

• Water conservation plan notice must include the water right holder's name, description of water rights, place and purpose of use, conservation measures to be implemented, and a statement that the plan is voluntary and temporary.

• Water conservation plans may be designated for up to 10 years and can be renewed for additional 10-year periods before expiration.

• Conservation of water pursuant to a filed water conservation plan notice does not constitute abandonment or forfeiture of the conserved water.

• Water right holders participating in water conservation plans cannot accrue long-term storage credits for any conserved water.
