Establishes training program requirements for medical assistants that must be designed and offered by a physician, meet approved training standards, verify entry-level competencies, and provide written verification of completion.

Allows persons to use the title "medical assistant" if they work under direct supervision of a doctor of medicine, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner, OR if they possess written verification of completing an approved training program.

Applies the same training requirements and title-use provisions to naturopathic medical assistants working under naturopathic doctors.

Updates the Arizona Medical Board's powers to adopt rules regarding medical assistant qualifications and training, incorporating the new training program standards.

Removes the prohibition against medical assistants using the title unless under direct supervision by creating an alternative pathway through completion of an approved training program.
