HB2336 Summary

• Establishes that in the Pinal Active Management Area, the director shall not review physical availability of groundwater and stored water for assured water supply modifications if the total volume does not exceed the previous designation minus actual withdrawals since issuance.

• Deems stored water physically available for assured water supply designations if it consists of existing long-term storage credits or water to be stored and recovered that meets physical availability requirements.

• Allows certificate of assured water supply holders to apply for assignment more than 10 years after original issuance if a minimum of 500 lots have been sold to individual home buyers.

• Specifies that a reduction in total water demand does not constitute a material change to subdivision plats, plans or maps for purposes of certificate assignment.

• Permits the director to revise rules to apply the assured water supply physical availability provisions to other active management areas beyond Pinal.
