Establishes an organized retail theft task force within the Attorney General's office to investigate and prosecute crimes involving stealing, embezzling, or obtaining retail merchandise by fraud for resale or reentry into commerce.

Task force shall consist of at least one full-time prosecutor, one paralegal, one support staff person, two investigators, and four peace officers with regularly scheduled meetings to review cases.

Attorney General authorized to enter intergovernmental agreements with federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies and coordinate with national organized retail theft task force networks.

Task force duties include investigating and prosecuting individuals or entities that purchase, sell, or distribute stolen retail property and targeting individuals committing theft and property crimes for financial gain.

Appropriates $1,500,000 from the state general fund in fiscal year 2021-2022 for operational expenses and personnel hiring; task force terminates July 1, 2029.
