HB2400 Summary

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 9-813 regarding the posting of municipal ordinances that impose penalties, fines, forfeitures or other punishments.

• Changes posting requirement from three or more public places to city or town hall or one public place within the city or town.

• Adds requirement that ordinances be posted on the city's or town's website and any additional public notice as is reasonable and practicable.

• Allows exhibits to ordinances to be excluded from postings if the city or town lists where the exhibits are available for public inspection.

• Ordinances become effective from and after the date of posting, with posting to be established by affidavit filed with the clerk.
