• Charter school governing bodies are not required to conduct teacher performance evaluations during the 2020-2021 school year.

• School district governing boards are not required to conduct performance evaluations for principals or certificated teachers during the 2020-2021 school year.

• Teachers designated in the lowest performance classification for 2019-2020 cannot have dismissal or nonrenewal procedures enforced based on the absence of a 2020-2021 evaluation.

• Teachers are not required to receive a regular effectiveness evaluation in 2020-2021 to be eligible for performance pay from the classroom site fund.

• This section expires December 31, 2022, and the act applies retroactively from June 30, 2020.
