AZ HB2544

Establishes the blockchain and cryptocurrency study committee consisting of 12 members including three state senators, three state representatives (with bipartisan balance), and representatives from cryptocurrency companies, blockchain associations, universities, financial institutions, and state agencies including the Department of Revenue, Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions, and Attorney General's office.

Committee shall review national blockchain and cryptocurrency data, assess current Arizona legislation on these subjects, compile potential legislation overview, and solicit industry expert opinions.

Requires committee to submit an initial report by December 31, 2021 and a final report by December 31, 2022 to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and Secretary of State detailing findings and legislative recommendations to foster a positive blockchain and cryptocurrency economic environment in Arizona.

Committee is repealed effective September 30, 2023.
