AZ HB2550

Adds section 38-1117 to Arizona Revised Statutes requiring law enforcement agencies to provide notice to complainants before accepting complaints against peace officers.

Mandates the notice inform complainants that making false, fraudulent, or unfounded reports to law enforcement is a class 1 misdemeanor under section 13-2907.01.

Specifies the notice must warn that misrepresenting facts to interfere with law enforcement operations or mislead peace officers constitutes a class 1 misdemeanor.

Enacted by the Arizona House of Representatives during the 55th Legislature, First Regular Session in 2021.
