HB 2585 Summary

• Beginning January 1, 2022, applicants for original licensure, license renewal, license reinstatement, or limited license as occupational therapists must possess a valid fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to title 41, chapter 12, article 3.1.

• Removes the previous fingerprinting requirements for occupational therapy applicants, including the option to issue a license before receiving criminal records check results and the 20-day deadline for submitting readable fingerprints.

• Adds the board of occupational therapy examiners to the list of agencies in the fingerprinting system definitions under sections 41-619.51 and 41-1758.

• Adds section 32-3430 to the list of statutes requiring fingerprint background checks conducted by the fingerprinting division under section 41-1758.01.

• The act became effective December 31, 2021.
