AZ HB2727

Establishes a new "student employee" employment classification for high school students who work only after school hours or when school is not in session.

Requires employers to pay student employees a minimum wage of at least $8.50 per hour, effective December 31, 2021.

Mandates that employers comply with all relevant state and federal youth employment laws when employing student employees.

Requires approval by at least three-fourths of the members in each house of the legislature to become effective, per Arizona Constitution Article IV, Part 1, Section 1.
