AZ HB2845

Amends A.R.S. § 36-405 to establish minimum standards for construction, modification, and licensing of health care institutions to protect public health and safety.

Requires that a physician licensed under Arizona Title 32, Chapter 13 or 17 medically discharge patients from surgery.

Allows outpatient surgical centers to require either an anesthesia provider licensed under Title 32, Chapter 13, 15, or 17, or a physician licensed under Title 32, Chapter 13 or 17 to remain present on premises until all patients are discharged from the recovery room.

Maintains existing authority for the director to classify health care institutions, establish licensing fees, and adopt standards consistent with joint commission and American osteopathic association guidelines.

Deposits 90 percent of collected licensing fees to the health services licensing fund and 10 percent to the state general fund.
