Arizona Legislature supports negotiation of a United States-Taiwan bilateral trade agreement and Taiwan's meaningful participation in international organizations.

Acknowledges economic and cultural achievements between Arizona and Taiwan since establishing sister-state relations on July 28, 1980, and encourages continued bilateral cooperation in economy, trade, technology, education, and culture.

Supports a future official visit to Taiwan by the Governor of Arizona at his discretion.

Notes Taiwan as Arizona's fifteenth largest export market in 2019 ($505.2 million in exports) and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's planned $12 billion investment in a Phoenix fab creating 1,900 jobs by 2024.

References prior federal laws supporting Taiwan's participation in international organizations including ICAO, INTERPOL, and WHO, and the Taiwan Travel Act allowing official exchanges between U.S. and Taiwanese officials.
