Concurrent resolution expressing the Arizona Legislature's condolences on the death of Ava Arpaio, who passed away on March 20, 2021, at age 89 from cancer.

Ava was born August 25, 1931, in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and married Joe Arpaio in 1957 after meeting on a blind date in Washington, D.C. in 1954.

Throughout her life, Ava worked as a dance studio owner, beauty school graduate, travel agency operator in Scottsdale, and commercial property manager while supporting her husband's nearly 60-year law enforcement career.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, two children (Sherry and Rocco), brother-in-law Michael, and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Resolution unanimously adopted by the House on March 31, 2021, and by the Senate on April 22, 2021.
