AZ HR2011

House Resolution 2011 honors the life and legacy of Dr. Robert Clark Cannell, who passed away on November 17, 2020 in Yuma, Arizona at age 78.

Dr. Cannell served as Yuma's first full-time pediatrician for approximately 50 years, founding Yuma Pediatrics, Ltd. in 1972 and serving as Medical Director of the Yuma Regional Medical Center School Health Program beginning in 1996.

He served in the Arizona State Legislature from 2000 to 2006 in both the House of Representatives and Senate, serving as cochairman of the Children's Caucus and on Health Committees in both chambers.

Dr. Cannell was named Yuma's Citizen of the Year in 1999 and earned the admiration of his community through decades of service as both a healthcare professional and elected official.

The House of Representatives expresses its deepest sympathies to his surviving family members, including his wife Leslie, three children, and eight grandchildren.
