SB 1011 Summary

• Establishes a maternal mental health advisory committee to recommend improvements for screening and treating maternal mental health disorders.

• Director of the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System serves as chairperson and appoints 17 additional members, including obstetricians, pediatricians, psychiatrists, nurses, hospital social workers, law enforcement and correctional facility representatives, nonprofit organizations, hospital representatives, health insurers, and Indian health services representatives.

• Committee must submit a report with recommendations to the health and human services committee chairs of both the House and Senate by December 31, 2022, with a copy provided to the Secretary of State.

• Section is repealed effective June 30, 2023.
