SB 1016 Summary

• Adds doctors of naturopathic medicine licensed under title 32, chapter 14 to the definition of "health care provider" in section 12-2801 for purposes of genetic testing regulations.

• Authorizes naturopathic doctors to issue standing orders for emergency epinephrine auto-injectors in schools and to administer or supervise administration of epinephrine auto-injectors to students experiencing anaphylactic shock.

• Allows naturopathic doctors to issue standing orders for school inhaler administration and to request standing orders for inhalers and spacers under school asthma management procedures.

• Permits naturopathic doctors to issue medical codes on driver licenses and nonoperating identification licenses when a licensee presents a signed statement regarding adverse medical conditions.

• Includes naturopathic doctors in provisions related to HIV testing, communicable disease reporting, and lead level reporting requirements.
