• Amends Section 32-101 of the Arizona Revised Statutes regarding the state board of technical registration and professional definitions.

• Redefines "engineer" to focus on engineering education, training, and experience that may apply engineering principles and interpret engineering data, rather than requiring special knowledge of mathematical and physical sciences.

• Revises "engineering practice" to emphasize application of engineering principles and data to engineering activities that impact public health, safety, and welfare, and to the extent necessary for protecting the public.

• Clarifies that a full-time employee of a mining, ore development, or mineral treatment company shall not be deemed to be practicing engineering if they work exclusively for that employer and do not represent themselves as available to perform engineering services for others.

• Adds a new definition for "professional engineer" as a person qualified to practice engineering and registered pursuant to the chapter, and renumbers subsequent definitions accordingly.
