Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 15-807 regarding school absence notification procedures and requirements.

Requires schools to notify parents or guardians of unexcused absences within two hours for kindergarten through grade six, and within two or five hours for grades seven and eight depending on when the absence occurs during the school day.

Mandates school districts inform parents at enrollment of their responsibility to authorize absences, notify schools of absences, and provide at least one telephone number for contact purposes.

Designates absences due to a pupil's mental or behavioral health as excused absences, with the Department of Education authorized to adopt guidelines and rules defining what constitutes such absences.

Provides liability protection for school districts, governing board members, and school employees or agents for failure to notify parents of absences.
