SB 1141 Summary

• Allows the director to accept accreditation reports from independent, nonprofit organizations approved by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in lieu of compliance inspections for health care institutions.

• Requires accreditation reports to be valid for the entire licensure period; the department may conduct inspections during periods when a valid accreditation report is not available.

• Prohibits acceptance of accreditation reports for intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities and for health care institutions that have been subject to enforcement actions under sections 36-427 or 36-431.01 within the year preceding the annual licensing fee anniversary date.

• Requires the director to immediately report to the Board of Examiners of Nursing Care Institution Administrators and Assisted Living Facility Managers information indicating a nursing care institution administrator's conduct may warrant disciplinary action.
