Employers with at least 50 employees in Arizona must grant employees up to 16 hours of unpaid leave per school year to attend school conferences or activities for their child, with a maximum of 4 hours per day.

Employee eligibility requires six consecutive months of employment, working at least half-time equivalent hours, and exhaustion of all vacation, personal, and compensatory leave before using this leave.

Employees must provide written notice at least seven days in advance (or 24 hours for emergencies) and coordinate with employers to minimize workplace disruption.

Employers are not required to grant leave if more than 5 percent of their workforce would be absent simultaneously, and the leave is unpaid unless the employer chooses otherwise.

Schools must offer parent-teacher conferences and activities during both regular school hours and evening hours, and must provide documentation of attendance upon request.
