AZ SB1242

Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 16-442 to add a biennial detailed review requirement for election equipment security in counties with populations exceeding 500,000 persons, beginning in 2021 and every two years thereafter.

Requires the review to focus on actual equipment, software, and other systems used in the most recent general election, conducted by or with assistance from an expert in election equipment security.

Mandates that completed reviews be presented to standing legislative committees with jurisdiction over election issues at a public meeting held no later than August 1 following the general election.

Requires written reports on the detailed review to be provided to the president of the senate, speaker of the house of representatives, and secretary of state.
