Senate Bill 1329 Summary

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 16-452 to change approval authority for the secretary of state's election instructions and procedures manual from the governor and attorney general to the joint legislative audit committee (JLAC)
• Requires the secretary of state to submit the manual to JLAC no later than October 1 of the year before each general election
• Applies to odd-numbered years immediately preceding general elections
• Maintains existing requirements for rules governing early voting, ballot procedures, production, distribution, collection, counting, tabulation and storage
• Preserves authority for the secretary of state to adopt rules regarding fax and internet transmission of ballots and ballot requests for absent uniformed and overseas citizens
