SB1415 - Guardianship Proceedings; Sealing of Records

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 14-5304 to add provisions allowing courts to seal guardianship records in specific circumstances.

• Permits courts to prohibit public access to guardianship files and records if a guardianship petition is withdrawn before adjudication, denied based on unproven incapacity allegations, or filed frivolously or without merit.

• Allows courts to unseal records only upon a subsequent court order made after a showing of good cause.

• Effective April 23, 2021.
