SB 1466 - Family Caregiver Grant Program

• Expands the definition of "care coordinator" to include professionals providing medical or nonmedical case management services through managed care organizations, insurance companies, hospitals, area agencies on aging, home health agencies, hospice, and senior centers.

• Adds licensed social workers and case managers or care coordinators to the professionals who can certify that a family member requires assistance with activities of daily living for grant eligibility.

• Extends the program's repeal date from June 30, 2023 to June 30, 2024.

• Allows individuals who received grants before the effective date to apply for additional grant monies if they have not yet received the full $1,000 per qualifying family member.

• Clarifies that primary residences for qualifying expenses do not include long-term care facilities or assisted living facilities, and allows grants for care provided in either the individual's or the qualifying family member's primary residence.
