SB1492 - Election Law Amendments

• Extends the timeline for election cancellation from 75 days to 105 days before an election when the number of candidates filing is less than or equal to positions available, affecting school districts, community colleges, and other elections under titles 15 and 48.

• Changes the deadline for filing arguments on ballot measures from 48 days to 27 days before the primary election and requires the Legislative Council to prepare analyses 10 days (instead of 60 days) before the primary election.

• Modifies nonpartisan election publication requirements to occur during the six calendar weeks preceding 150 days before the election (instead of 90 days) and allows mailing the call of election to households as an alternative to newspaper publication.

• Updates precinct committeeman ballot procedures to use "additional ballot style" language and requires that when multiple candidates file, the election board provide the partisan precinct committeeman ballot to registered party members in addition to the primary election ballot.

• Makes various technical corrections to election law language throughout Arizona Revised Statutes, including changes to section 16-464 regarding ballot name rotation for precinct committeemen (now alphabetical by surname instead of drawn by lot).
